Fans of comedian and podcaster Theo Fong were raving about his interview with former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, calling it “the most authentic conversation” they’d ever seen.
Von posted the interview with Trump on his YouTube channel, and the comments section was filled with positive reactions from his fans, many of whom are apolitical.
“Wow this is amazing! Thank you for having the courage to interview President Trump!,” one fan wrote. “This was an amazing opportunity for you and your audience.”
“That was the most honest conversation I’ve ever seen with Trump,” another responded. “Well done.”
“I’ve seen a lot of Trump interviews and this is the best. Why? Because Theo is so relatable,” another enthused user. “I’ve never seen Trump just talk. Great job Theo! Thank you!”
“Trump is a funny guy and it was good to see an interview that was 100% non-political. Just two guys talking,” another agreed.
“Great interview,” said another. “Thank you Theo for showing us a side of Trump that we don’t see.”
“Half the conversation was about his personal life, the ravages of addiction, personal inspiration, etc. No politics. That’s what sets Trump apart – he’s comfortable talking to anyone about almost anything and can admit he doesn’t know,” another responded. “What a great conversation.”

Other Vuong fans said they were impressed by the comedian’s ability to remain his authentic self while speaking with the president, and praised Trump for his willingness to engage in some very unconventional conversation for a presidential candidate.
“I love how Theo is always himself. He’s never like himself which is great,” one YouTuber raved.
“I love how Theo speaks exactly the same to whoever he’s talking to. This man is a national treasure,” another agreed.
“How personable Theo is! Just the fact that he talks to the President and the guy on the street the same way just goes to show what a genuine person he is!!! That interview was amazing, we got to see a very personal side of Donald. Bravo,” a third commented.
“Theo’s way of communicating is really unique and really interesting,” said another. “He talks to the former president like I would talk to a friend, and it works.”
“Amazing. This is why I love Theo. Whether it’s a lunch lady, a teacher or the president, he stays true to himself with his interview style,” said another fan.
“What I liked most about this interview is that Theo doesn’t treat Trump like a celebrity,” another wrote. “He’s not trying to impress Trump, he’s just being himself. So refreshing.”
Other fans expressed pleasant surprise at the way Von spoke to President Trump.
“Probably the first time I’ve ever witnessed an interviewer call President Trump ‘homie’ lol,” one person wrote.
“Theo calling President Trump ‘dude’ is one of the best things ever! Great interview,” another commented.
“It’s hilarious how Theo calls the President of the United States his ‘mate,’ ‘man,’ ‘brother,’ and ‘dude,'” agreed another. “Typical Theo.”
Another person speculated: “Theo is the only person in history to call Don ‘buddy’.”
“It’s a testament to Theo’s sincerity that he calls Trump ‘dude,'” responded another. “God bless this guy. That was a great interview.”
One fan admitted that Trump’s odd interview has made them like the 45th President more, writing, “It’s incredible. I used to hate listening to Trump and couldn’t stand him as a person but since then I’ve watched almost every one of his interviews and rallies and I never get bored of him lol.”
Others were ecstatic about Fung’s “raw and real” conversation with Trump about substance abuse, acknowledging it was another side of the former president they hadn’t seen before.
“The President’s honest and sincere response when asked about the last time he met with his brother – ‘If it helps even one person, it’s worth the conversation’ – shows how much he cares about this issue,” one fan responded.
“It’s not easy to talk honestly about drugs, alcohol and addiction,” another pointed out. “I applaud Theo for being so open about it and I applaud Trump for asking questions instead of criticizing.”
“I love how Trump is so serious about telling Te’o: ‘Good luck, you got through this, right?’ He wants to make sure Te’o is OK,” another user commented.
“I can’t believe Theo let Trump talk about his brother,” another wrote. “Theo is such an honest man.”
“I had no idea Trump was straight edge!” another admitted. “This is a different side of him I’ve never seen before.”
