A South Carolina homeowner shot a suspected burglar who broke into his garage in the middle of the night last week and tried to steal his motorcycle, police said.
Horry County Police responded to a home on Greensea Road in Greensea just before 4 a.m. Friday for a report of a burglary. WMBF-TV reported.
The third suspect has not been identified, the department said.
The suspects and a third suspect, whose name has not been released, broke into a residential garage to steal a motorcycle, the station said, citing a police report.
However, the homeowner received a notification on his cell phone that movement had been detected, so he got up, caught the suspects in his garage and opened fire, WMBF reported, adding that the suspects then fled.
According to police, Roderick Bell and Demetrius Murray were caught by dogsled riders after they abandoned their vehicle on St. Joseph Drive and fled the scene, and both were charged with theft. Both 27-year-olds remained in custody Thursday morning, according to jail information.
Murray was shot in the right shoulder during the incident, WMBF reported.
The third suspect has not been identified, the department said.

- “You should feel lucky you got a ride with the police and not the coroner,” another commenter said. Expressed an opinion.
- “Great!” another user Declared“If you have the nerve to maliciously invade someone else’s land, you’d better be prepared to face what’s out there.”
