Ohio State Police say three adults Arrested A 6-year-old boy was handcuffed by his hands and feet and bitten by a pit bull.
The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the scene on Saturday afternoon after a report of a dog attack at a home in the Village of Savannah. The 911 caller told the operator that a child had been bitten on the ear and neck by a pit bull.
“It was awful that we couldn’t take away his pain.”
The boy was left in critical condition and eventually transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital.
Police interviewed the boy’s mother, Angelina Williams of Cleveland, who said he lives with the family of Robert Michalski, the owner of the home and dog.
Investigators said they learned the boy had been “handcuffed and restrained by his hands and feet” before being attacked by the dog, and that they found Michalski and the dog hiding during a search of the home.
After arresting Williams and Michalski and taking them to the Ashland County Jail, police determined that Williams’ boyfriend, Taylor Desiree Marvin Brown, was also involved in the “binding” of the boy. He was also arrested.
WKYZ-TV told We contacted the boy’s aunt and legal guardian, Kidasa Castellano, who said the boy lives with her in New York but has been visiting his biological mother in Ohio for two weeks at a time.
“It was awful that we couldn’t take away his pain,” she said.
Castellano said the boy had confided in his mother about the incident and told her he was being punished because he was crying, but his mother didn’t like it when he was crying. The boy was released from the hospital after surgery.
Williams and her boyfriend were charged with child endangerment and obstruction of justice, both felonies. Michalski was charged with child endangerment and tampering with evidence.
Police said the pit bull was captured and the investigation is ongoing.
