Trump Right on ‘Broader Issues’

Robert Kennedy Jr. said on Fox News Sunday this week that he supports former President Donald Trump because he thinks he has the right opinions on “broader issues.”

Host Shannon Bream said, “You and President Trump haven’t always been fans of each other. Earlier this year he posted on social media that ‘The President has been won by the biggest liberal lunatic in history. A fake radical leftist whose poll numbers are terrible and getting worse.’ New Yorkers, I’ve heard that in a recent text exchange a few weeks ago, Kennedy told someone that Trump is a terrible person, the worst president ever, barely human, probably a sociopath. I’ve read your texts and I can talk about it. How did you get from that position to Friday night?”

“It was clear to me that there was no path to victory — 60 months of censorship and no chance of appearing on any network other than Fox,” Kennedy said.

He continued, “I didn’t have a path to victory. President Trump reached out to me, and I spoke with him hours after the assassination attempt and we had a long conversation on the phone. We had an extensive meeting afterwards, and the broader issues that he brought to the campaign are most important to me – ending the war in Ukraine, ending censorship, and protecting children’s health. These are all things that President Trump wants to address.”

He added, “These issues are so important to uniting our country, and we need to get to a point in this country where we love our children rather than hate each other.”
