CNN talking head Dana Bash acknowledges DNC’s appeal to men with testosterone deficits

CNN host Dana Bash
Suggested This week it was revealed that this year’s Democratic National Convention was strategically targeting testosterone-deficient men, who are particularly averse to Type A male personality and displays of masculinity.

Jake Tapper told fellow CNN commentators Bash and Abby Phillips on Wednesday that women “overwhelmingly” support Harris, while men tend to support former President Donald Trump.

Anne
Economist/YouGov Poll A poll released this week found that 51% of registered voters support Harris and 38% support Trump, while 49% of male respondents said they intended to vote for Trump and 42% intended to vote for Harris.

“There is a gender gap, and also a sense that Democrats have been rallying around a woman as their top candidate for the past month,” Bash said. “This is the first time the Democrats have had a woman as their top candidate since 2016. It’s been interesting to see how Democrats are learning how to run against and handle Donald Trump as a female challenger. The campaigns and female candidates are very different now than they were in 2016.”

This time around, Democrats are trying to appeal to more effeminate men, Bash said.

“There will be contrasts on display here tonight.”

“They’re trying to push an image of masculinity. Tim Waltz is one of them. Doug Emhoff last night is able to speak to men who may not be the testosterone-laden gun-toting guys who want to listen to Hulk Hogan or the guys who came out at the Republican National Convention,” Bash said. “But on top of that, I want you to understand that in 2024, it’s OK to be a man who feels good about himself.

“They’re making a real effort to reach out to male voters beyond their base,” Bash added.

Following the reference to low-testosterone men, Minnesota Governors Tim Walz and Doug Emhoff Recently hospitalized Jake Tapper, who said he had been unfaithful in his first marriage, referenced an earlier conversation about “a different definition of masculinity in 2024” and suggested the Republican National Convention was instead “testosterone-heavy,” citing speeches from UFC CEO Dana White, Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan.

Recent Jokes Regarding the body slamming of Kamala Harris, Abby Phillips said, “When we talk about the kind of testosterone that was on display at the Republican National Convention, that’s exactly what it was. You’re going to see the opposite here tonight. You’re going to have people with ties to Planned Parenthood, the Human Rights Campaign, LGBTQ+ organizations.”

“They’re going to put these people on stage to talk about a different version of America,” Phillips continued, “But for Democrats, it’s a constant balancing act between meeting the needs of their base and getting their message of affirmation about their party’s rainbow coalition, so to speak. But they also have to speak to people who may be uncomfortable with Hulk Hogan, but who want the party to speak to them right now.”

“There are a lot of young people who admire Trump’s strength.”

attention In 2016, 51% of young people supported Democrats; last year, that number dropped to 39%. In the months since, young people have begun to support Republican control of Congress and have turned more to Trump.

“I think the idea that America needs strong male figures is even more salient and explicit in the Republican campaign this year than it was in 2016,” said Melissa Deckman, CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute.
said “Lots of young men are impressed by Mr Trump’s strength, or what they perceive as strength,” The Guardian reported.

Deckman noted that in 2022, 49% of Gen Z men said the U.S. has become “too sweet and feminine.” Last year, 60% of the same generation said the same, she said.

“The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet.'”

Some in the Democratic Party, including Democratic strategist James Carville, are raising alarms about the ongoing feminization plan.

“When you listen to the Democratic elites, and NPR is my go-to place, it’s all about how women, particularly women of color, are going to decide this election,” Carville said.
said “I think: ’48 percent of voters are men. Can we please give them some consideration?'” she wrote in The New York Times earlier this year.

Carville zeroed in on one reason why Harris’ predecessor may have lost support among minority voters and alienated men, saying “there may be too many preachy women.”

Citing a survey by the Young Men’s Research Initiative, The Guardian said Harris is unlikely to garner better support than Biden among young male voters.

“‘Don’t drink beer. Don’t watch football. Don’t eat burgers. It’s not good for you,'” Carville continued. “The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. Eat your legumes.'”
