Film director Quentin Tarantino slammed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, saying she shouldn’t bow to pressure over being allowed to hold a press conference.
Tarantino went into an emotional tirade while being interviewed by Bill Maher on his podcast.
“No matter what she says, I’m going to vote for her anyway!”
“I just want to win the election. And the easiest way to win the election. Look, you can say she should have been braver or whatever, but we’re the president!” He said so.
“Exactly,” Maher replied.
“Trump isn’t the president. We are the f**king presidents. That’s what matters right now. But it’s about f**king winning! Most people don’t give Democrats enough credit, but they do give Republicans credit. Sometimes it’s about f**king winning and it doesn’t matter what we look like!” he continued.
“The most important thing right now is to win!”
“It’s all about winning!” he reiterated. “Sprint like mad. She’s running. She’s not stopping to trip!”
Maher had been trying to argue that Harris had made a mistake by avoiding the press conference, but was apparently persuaded by Tarantino’s urging. Harris’ campaign has been heavily criticized for avoiding the interview, but many on the left have argued that Harris gained no political advantage by not doing so.
“No matter what she says in some stupid interview, I’m still going to vote for her anyway, so don’t ruin anything!” Tarantino continued.
“Exactly!” Maher replied.
Tarantino is best known for his breakout film Pulp Fiction, but has also been praised for other films like Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill. In 2023, he made headlines when he admitted he supports stricter gun control, despite owning a gun for self-defense.
