Police in Nashville, Tennessee, have released a dramatic video of officers rounding up a fugitive wanted for murder who had been on the run for more than a year in connection to an August 2021 crime.
Metro Nashville Police said 30-year-old Tyrone Walker was wanted for the murder of 39-year-old Cecil Holmes Jr.
Walker was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in April 2023, and detectives have been searching for the suspect since the indictment.
Earlier this month, detectives learned Walker had been driving around the Edge Hill area in a gold-colored SUV.

Police used a helicopter equipped with night vision to monitor the air above, spotting Walker and watching as officers on the ground deployed spike strips near the exit of the housing development.
Police posted the video Footage of the incident posted to social media shows the vehicle driving through a residential area, and when it reaches an exit, a person later identified as Walker is seen getting out of the SUV and running away.
As Walker fled the scene, officers chased him around a complex of buildings, and once within arm’s reach, an officer lunged at Walker and tackled him.

Police said Walker threw a handgun with an extended magazine on the ground before he was taken into custody.
Walker was eventually processed and arrested, and a judge ordered him held without bail until his hearing.
Walker has multiple convictions, including robbery, theft and possession of cocaine.

Police said two other people who were in the car with Walker were also arrested on outstanding warrants for violating probation.
After the video clip was posted online, several people praised the Metro Nashville Police Department for its work.
