Harris Will Do First Interview on CNN on Thursday as Joint Interview with Walz

At the start of CNN's “The Situation Room” on Tuesday, host and chief national security correspondent Alex Marquardt announced that Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris would be conducting her first interview as a candidate with 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), in a joint interview with CNN on Thursday. This will also be their first joint interview as candidates.

CNN political director David Chalian said Harris and Waltz will speak with CNN chief political correspondent and host Dana Bash in Georgia on Thursday, and the interview will air as a primetime special at 9 p.m. Eastern on Thursday.

Marquardt then said that as political director, Chalian would be helping craft questions for Bash and asked him what issues he thought Bash should focus on. Chalian responded that the economy was obviously the biggest issue, but there were a lot of issues “that we haven't heard anything from her yet as the Democratic candidate.”
