Prosecutors said Monday that a city corrections officer is accused of raping a 20-year-old woman at her Queens home in March while posing as a television producer helping her land an acting job.
The Queens District Attorney's Office announced that Rikers Guard Anthony Martin Jr., 32, has been charged with first-degree rape after he allegedly contacted the victim on social media while pretending to work in show business. He said.
The woman arrived at Martin's Springfield Gardens home on March 26 where she was scheduled to meet with other producers and other potential cast members.
But when the victim went inside, Martin was alone and began touching her leg, prosecutors allege.
She tried to run away but Martin stopped her, then pulled down her pants and raped her, according to the district attorney's office.
When Martin finally got the victim out of the house, the young woman went to police and sought medical treatment.
In a statement, District Attorney Melinda Katz thanked the “brave survivors” for coming forward.
“My office is committed to advocating for victims of sexual assault and has secured a grand jury indictment against the defendant for first-degree rape,” Katz said.

Martin is also charged with first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape and second-degree false imprisonment, which could land him up to 25 years in prison. He is currently free on bond.
His lawyer, Steven Gateman, said his client was prepared to fight the charges.
“Ultimately, he categorically denies the charges and looks forward to vigorously defending himself throughout the proceedings,” he told the Post.
Martin, who had worked as a corrections officer since 2015, was suspended without pay on April 2, according to a Department of Corrections spokesman and attorney.
