Court clears way for Florida to enforce ban on gender-affirming care for minors

In Florida, a federal judge ruled this week that transgender minors cannot be prescribed puberty-suppressing drugs or other hormone treatments, even if their parents approve, while the state irons out legal concerns about its ban on gender-affirming treatments.A federal appeals court this week lifted a stay on enforcement of a series of regulations put in place by states in more than two dozen states last year that sought to restrain transgender minors from transitioning.

New Hampshire resident dies after testing positive for mosquito-borne virus

New Hampshire officials confirmed Tuesday that an adult resident died from a rare, highly deadly mosquito-borne disease. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement that the adult resident died after testing positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus (EEEV). The resident, whose name has not been released, was “hospitalized with severe central nervous system symptoms,” the department said.
