A new poll shows former President Trump leading Vice President Harris among independents.
The survey found that: Released Wednesday According to the YouGov poll, 42% of independents said they planned to vote for Trump in November's election, while 37% said they would vote for Harris.
13% of independents said they don't know who they will vote for.
Ms Harris and Mr Trump received nearly universal support from their respective parties: 95% of Democrats said they would vote for Ms Harris, while 91% of Republicans said they planned to vote for Mr Trump.
Fifty-three percent of independents said they would not consider voting for Harris, while 47% said they would consider voting for her.
Fifty-five percent of independents said they would consider voting for Trump, while 45% said they would not consider voting for him.
The survey comes as Ms Harris has expanded her lead in other polls, narrowing Mr Trump's lead in several key battleground states just weeks after announcing her campaign.
Harris widened her lead after formally accepting the party's nomination at the Democratic National Convention.
The survey came shortly after independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign last week and endorsed Trump.
The YouGov poll was conducted among 1,555 people between August 25 and 27 and has a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points.
