Pat McAfee hints there is ‘good chance’ Aaron Rodgers returns for weekly show

Aaron Rodgers is likely to return to ESPN broadcasts every week this season thanks to “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Speaking at ESPN's Bristol, Connecticut campus during media day, McAfee suggested Rodgers would appear weekly for a fifth consecutive season on the popular sports talk show, where the Jets quarterback has made numerous headlines for comments he made on the show.

“There's a good chance we'll see Aaron again on Tuesday,” McAfee said. According to Collin Sarao of Front Office Sports:This was followed by a somewhat heated question and answer session.

Rogers has used the platform in the past to discuss his views on COVID-19 and other controversial topics.

Last NFL season, he got into a spat with ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel after suggesting that Kimmel might be on a list of Jeffrey Epstein's associates.

During a press conference on Wednesday, McAfee acknowledged he's heard criticism of the segment and “won't argue with it,” but argued the segment is valuable because of Rodgers' future place on “the Mount Rushmore of NFL quarterbacks.”

McAfee has defended the scene in the past, noting that the footage will be used in “every Aaron Rodgers documentary 10 or 15 years from now,” and he made similar comments on Wednesday. According to Deadline.

“I don't know if it's journalism in your eyes, but I do believe we provided something useful for sports fans,” McAfee said.

He also told the assembled reporters that “there are many people who want this to never happen again.”

Despite this, it appears Rogers will continue to appear on the show regularly.

Rodgers played regularly last season while recovering from a season-ending Achilles injury he suffered during the Jets' opening drive in Week 1 against the Bills.
