Biden used video from visits to military cemeteries to cut campaign ads

President Joe Biden used video and photos from his visit to a military cemetery in a campaign ad against former President Donald Trump, something Democrats and mainstream media criticized Trump for doing during a visit to Arlington National Cemetery.

President Trump visited the military cemetery on Monday to take part in a ceremony honoring the lives of 13 U.S. soldiers who died during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. He was invited to Arlington by some of the families.

Since the visit, the media has tried hard to create a scandal around the visit, reporting that President Trump used videos and photos taken during the ceremony and his visit to Section 60 for election advertising. Arlington National Cemetery has rules that prohibit the media from using the site for political purposes.

“We have approved President Trump's official videographer and photographer to attend the event.”

Biden has used photos of himself at military cemeteries, including visits to Arlington, in anti-Trump campaign ads in 2020 and 2024. In 2020, Biden used a photo from his 2010 visit to Arlington in his Memorial Day campaign video. The video ends with Biden's campaign logo and a call for people to text his campaign.

When Biden was the Democratic candidate in this year's presidential election, he used a video of his visit to the Aisne-Marne American Military Cemetery in France to attack Trump after he refuted his false comments that Trump was a “stupid loser.”

Gold Star families who hosted Trump in Arlington this week release The statement explained that the former commander in chief was honoured to be able to spend the third anniversary of the horrific attack with them.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to President Donald J. Trump for attending the recent Section 60 rally and remembering our children and our fallen brothers and sisters,” the statement said. “On the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing, the President and his team conducted themselves with the utmost respect and dignity for all our service members, especially our beloved children.”

“We authorized President Trump's official videographer and photographer to participate in the event to ensure that these sacred moments of remembrance were respectfully recorded and that these memories can be cherished forever,” the statement continued.
