A new poll shows Vice President Kamala Harris failed to boost her approval rating after the Democratic National Convention and the outlook for the 2024 presidential election remains fundamentally unchanged after four days of the convention.

Langer noted that his polling also found that Trump “has not recovered in his approval ratings” since the Republican National Convention in July, which he said shows the “entrenched nature” of the race.
A poll conducted after the Democratic National Convention showed Harris widening her lead with women by 13 points to six points.
However, the vice president lost support from men.
Before the Democratic National Convention, men favored Harris by three points (49% to 46%), but now they support Trump by five points (46% to 51%), according to the poll.
On those issues, voters still have more confidence in Trump than Harris on how he handles the economy (8 points), inflation (8 points), immigration (9 points) and the Israel-Hamas war (7 points).
Voters thought the Democratic candidate would do a better job than Trump at addressing health care (10 points), protecting democracy (7 points) and fighting gun violence (6 points).
More voters said Harris, whom Trump has called a Marxist, is “too liberal” to be president (46%) than voters who said Trump is “too conservative” (43%).
The ABC News/Ipsos poll, conducted Aug. 23-27, had a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
