Bone fragments found at NYC waterfrpmt park in third chilling discovery near carousel

Bone fragments were found on the banks of Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday, marking the third time possible human remains have been found in the riverside park this month.

The latest grisly discovery occurred shortly before 7 p.m., when police received a 911 call reporting bones in rocks along the shoreline, an NYPD spokesman said on Sunday.

Police said the city medical examiner's office was dispatched to the scene and is examining the bones.

Earlier this month, human skulls and other bones were discovered twice along the waterfront in Brooklyn Park.

The first bundle of bones, including the skull, was discovered shortly before 9am on August 19 near the iconic Jane's Carousel, the outlet reported.

Two days later, human bones were discovered in the same location at around 12:30 a.m.

Police suspect the remains belong to one person, according to law enforcement sources.

The New York Police Department declined to comment further.

In January, police found the body of a 13-year-old girl face-down along the shoreline near the Fulton Ferry Landing pier after she had washed up in the park, authorities said.
