Cops search for suspect in weekend machete attack on Bronx subway line

A machete-wielding suspect attacked another strap attendant on a Bronx subway train early this weekend, police said, nearly two years after the suspect allegedly stabbed another victim in a hate attack on the transit system.

Lunadieo Jordan, 54, is accused of pulling out an edged weapon and slashing a 31-year-old man on board a northbound Platform 2 train at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities said the victim suffered wounds to his head and arms in the most recent attack.

Police said the suspect and the victim had recently been involved in an altercation after Jordan approached the man for an unknown reason as the train arrived at the Allerton Avenue subway station.

Authorities say Jordan then attacked, pulled out a large knife and struck the victim multiple times before fleeing and remaining on the run.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

This isn't the first time Jordan has been accused of a violent crime on the subway: In June 2022, he allegedly stabbed a man on another train in the Bronx, in what police called an anti-gay hate crime.

Police say Jordan, who was living in Brooklyn at the time, yelled homophobic slurs at the victim on the first day of Pride Month.

The attacks were nearly identical, with Jordan allegedly stabbing the victim with a knife just as the train approached the Third Avenue and 149th Street station in Melrose around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the complaint filed at the time, the victim of the 2022 assault had been listening to loud music on the train.

Jordan was in trouble for a stabbing incident in 2022 that was eerily similar to the attack that allegedly happened over the weekend.

“Turn the music down you motherfucker,” Jordan, who was 52 at the time, allegedly yelled.

“What did you say to me?” the victim responded.

Authorities say Jordan then pulled a knife and slashed the man's wrist, severed several arteries and requiring two surgeries.

Jordan also fled after the attack, but was arrested the next day in Manhattan on suspicion of heroin possession.

However, it is unclear how Jordan's 2022 lawsuit would be resolved. E-commerce

Authorities charged him with two counts of assault as a hate crime, unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated harassment as a hate crime.

After his arrest, Jordan was shown security camera footage of himself.

“Yeah, that's me,” he replied, according to the lawsuit. “I take the train all the time. So what?”

It's unclear how the case was resolved. The Bronx District Attorney's Office did not respond to a request for comment Sunday.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to call the Crime Tip Line at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
