Javon Baker claimed he was issued a traffic ticket while dropping someone off at the airport on Sunday morning, and expressed his outrage in an Instagram Live video.
The Patriots rookie wide receiver took to the social media platform to vent his frustration over the situation in a live video that was filmed and posted by X.
Baker claimed that officers approached his vehicle and, at one point, began yelling at him “for no reason” and threatened to tow the Patriots rookie's car.
In the clip, the recipient can be heard saying that if he removed his car within that time frame and had it towed, nothing would happen.
“It ain't no use to me if you tow my car,” Baker said. “Come on, bro. You've got other things to worry about. He's trying to fine me. … Why would you do that, bro? I'm just dropping somebody off at the airport.”
The incident apparently escalated into officers and Baker yelling at each other.
It was unclear why Baker was ticketed, but they appeared to be referring to him having a concealed license plate and tinted windshield.
“If you start yelling at me, don't think I'm entitled to yell back,” Baker said. “Who do you think you are?” Baker asked. “Just because you're a police officer doesn't mean you're nothing, brother. My tax dollars pay for you. Please, brother, work for me.”
Baker did not say which police station or airport he went to to drop someone off.
During the preseason, Baker had five receptions for 56 yards.
Baker was a standout player at UCF last season, recording 52 receptions for 1,139 yards and seven touchdowns.
The 22-year-old was selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of this year's draft.
