The families of the 13 servicemen killed in the Abbey Gate bombing have condemned Vice President Kamala Harris' attack on former President Donald Trump as he visited Arlington National Cemetery to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers on the third anniversary of the attack.
“As Vice President, I had the opportunity to visit Arlington National Cemetery on several occasions. It is a place of solemnity, not politics. Yet, as reported this week, Donald Trump's team chose to hold a video shoot there, which led to an altercation with cemetery officials. Let me be clear: the former president disrespected hallowed grounds for political stunts,” Harris said. Written About X.

Harris further spread the “idiots and losers” myth, concluding her statement with, “I will always respect the service and sacrifice of America's fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our beloved country and cherished freedoms. I mourn and honor them, and I will never politicize them.”
Seven family members of victims of the Abbey Gate bombing signed a letter and also released a video expressing outrage at Harris' statements after they tried to contact him but were unable to in the aftermath of the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“As families of the brave servicemen and women tragically killed in the Abbey Gate bombing, we are appalled by Vice President Kamala Harris' attempt to politicize President Trump's recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery. President Trump was invited by us, Gold Star families, to attend a solemn ceremony marking three years since the deaths of our children. He was there to honor their sacrifice, and yet VP Harris has shamefully exploited this sacred moment for political ploys,” the letter read.
“Vice President Harris is responsible for the deaths of our sons and daughters. … We have requested multiple meetings to discuss the losses of our loved ones, but VP Harris has repeatedly ignored us and shown a complete lack of empathy and accountability. Her refusal to face the consequences of her administration's decisions is a profound betrayal of us as Gold Star families,” the letter continued.
As a result of Harris's actions after the terrorist attacks, the family concluded that he “has demonstrated his unfitness to serve as Commander in Chief.”
“I want to thank the families of our great fallen warriors for coming together as one and for attending, at their request, a celebration of their incredible family members who are no longer with us because of the incompetence of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden,” Trump said.
