Led by Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever is the hottest team in the WNBA and their chances of winning the championship are skyrocketing.
After being at 100/1 on 11 August, Clarke led the Fever to a stunning turnaround, winning six of their final seven games and at the time of writing the odds had plummeted to 19/1.
According to FanDuel, the Indiana Fever have the sixth-best odds of winning the WNBA championship.
BetMGM told The Post that the Indiana Fever have been a big threat as the long-shot team all season, winning 50.9% of the hands in the market.
These bettors aren't just ordinary “Clarkmania” devotees placing small amounts of money on the Fever.
BetMGM told The Post that the Fever holds 38.9% of the tickets in the market.
Typically, when the handle percentage is higher than the ticket percentage, you can safely assume that bettors are betting on the Fever with higher stakes than average.
On DraftKings, Barstool founder Dave Portnoy has placed a massive $100,000 bet on the Fever to win, meaning that if Clark and her running mate Aaliyah Boston clinch the championship, DraftKings would have to pay out an exorbitant $10 million.
But the Fever weren't very aggressive at the trade deadline, which was at least a little surprising given they were riding a playoff run.
