Trump: Harris sees 'problems' for campaign in New Hampshire

Former President Trump said he has “issues” with his rival, Vice President Harris, campaigning in New Hampshire.

“Comrade Kamala Harris thinks there's a problem with the campaign in New Hampshire because the party neglected the state during the primary and never showed up to vote.” Trump In a post on his Truth Social site.

Harris will host a campaign event in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on Wednesday.

Trump said the cost of living in New Jersey is “through the roof,” energy bills are “among the highest in the country” and the housing market is the most unaffordable it has ever been.

“I defended and will defend New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary!” Trump said, referring to the state's early primary in January, which he handily won over Republican challenger U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

“My friends in New Hampshire, get out and vote for Trump,” he wrote. “Together, we will make your state and America strong, safe and prosperous again!”

According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Harris has an 82 percent chance of winning New Hampshire.

New Hampshire was once considered a battleground state with a large percentage of moderate voters, but Democrats have won there in every presidential election except for 2000, when former President George W. Bush won. In 2016, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won the state by just 0.3 percentage points, and in 2020, President Biden defeated President Trump by 7 percentage points.

Despite the close margin of victory in the last election, the Trump campaign has deemed New Hampshire “no longer a battleground state,” and its top volunteers have ceased operations there. They have been instructed to focus on Pennsylvania instead. The Boston Globe reported..

Tom Mountain, a former Massachusetts Republican Party official who served as Trump's vice chairman, said in an email to supporters that Trump will surely “lose by an even larger margin” than he did in 2016 or 2020. This is a change of pace from Republican efforts to win the state for Biden before he dropped out of the race, according to the outlet.

The Hill has reached out to Harris' campaign for comment.
