A fundraiser for those accused in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol that was scheduled to be held this week at former President Trump's golf club in New Jersey has been postponed indefinitely.
The J6 Awards Gala, hosted by the nonprofit Stand in the Gap, was scheduled to be held Thursday at Trump's Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club. Event websiteThe date has been “postponed” and the location and time will be announced at a later date.
In a statement in August Fox BusinessEvent organizer LJ Finno said the event was postponed due to “scheduling conflicts with invited guest speakers.”
Trump had been invited to speak at the event but was not expected to attend.
Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and Trump lawyer who has also been waging his own legal battle over the 2020 presidential election, has been confirmed to speak at the event.
Conservative comedian Anthony Raimondi confirmed to Fox Business that he plans to attend the event.
Funds raised at the event will provide “much-needed support” to the January 6 defendants as they face “significant challenges.”
The event also aims to “honor and celebrate” the 20 defendants who contributed to the “powerful 'Justice For All' song.”
“The song was released on March 3, 2023 and quickly went platinum thanks to your unwavering support,” the event's website read. “Now we come together to pay tribute not only to these individuals, but to all of the J6 defendants who have shown incredible courage and sacrifice.”
Tickets range from $1,500 per person for general admission to $50,000 for a “Platinum” table of 12. NBC News reported.
