Travis Kelce was initially “very cautious” about revealing his relationship with Taylor Swift, even to his family.
During a recent appearance “The Pivot” Podcasthis brother Jason Kelce explained why the Chiefs tight end was so strategic about the couple's whirlwind romance.
“There were signs of it. There was this constant talk on the podcast about Travis trying to give Swift a friendship bracelet, so we knew something was up,” Jason said, referencing how Travis said on the “New Heights” podcast that he tried but failed to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during a show on his Eras tour last summer.
“But I think he was very careful about even telling me or anybody because, in fact, she's under very close scrutiny and so I think they wanted to make sure that everything was done in a way that respected people's privacy and I think they still try to do that,” Jason said.
“And even now, I want to be respectful of them and I don't want anyone to feel like I'm invading any kind of private relationship.
“It's not my place to comment on their relationship, but he is my brother and I am very happy for him. And it's a situation that is under a lot of scrutiny so you have to be careful how you speak out.”

Jason and Travis have spoken candidly about how their lives have changed amid the increased attention they've received from their podcast and their connection to Swift.
The future Hall of Fame center, who retired in March after 13 seasons with the Eagles and joined ESPN as an NFL analyst, explained how his relationship with Travis has changed since the podcast began.
“When you run a business with your family, it’s always going to be dynamic, and now podcasts are big business. [New Heights] And so on and so forth,” Jason said.
“…That nature has caused a change in the relationship. It's never been like that before. But thankfully, for Travis and I, who we are as brothers outweighs all of that. So at the end of the day, all of those things apply to who we are, who we are as brothers.”
“And of course, his love life, his family life and who he cares about takes precedence over the business side of what we're doing. So when that's the priority, I think the other things that you essentially have to address as business partners are with the right framework in place.”

Life has certainly changed for the Kelsey brothers following the success of their “New Heights” podcast, which gained them a new audience after Travis began dating Swift last summer.
The brothers signed a $100 million deal with Amazon to distribute their “New Heights” podcast and have several sponsorship and commercial deals.
Travis has also landed a number of TV jobs, including hosting the new series “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” Amazon.
Travis previously explained on his podcast with Jason that when he attended Jason's Eras tour last July, he tried to woo her by giving her a bracelet with his phone number on it.
The All-Pro tight end never met Swift at the time, as she said she was conserving her voice before the three-hour show.
However, Kelsey's interest reached Swift's ears, and a relationship blossomed from there.
Swift's first public appearance at Arrowhead Stadium was on Sept. 24 last fall, when the Chiefs beat the Bears.
The following month, the pair went public with their relationship when they were seen holding hands together out in New York.
Swift is taking time off from the Eraser Tour, which ends in December, so he may attend the Chiefs' home opener against the Ravens on Thursday.
