Dozens of firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze in a high-rise building in southeast London less than two hours after a damning report into the Grenfell Tower fire was published.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received 50 calls to the fire at lunchtime on Wednesday after two apartments on the ninth and 10th floors in Catford.
Thick smoke was briefly seen billowing from a corner of the top floor of the 11-storey building, and around 70 firefighters in 10 fire engines were dispatched to the scene. At around 2:20pm, firefighters said the blaze had been contained and no injuries were reported.

Photos of the concrete-covered building showed the top corners of the building covered in black soot as firefighters on a work platform looked on.
The cause of the Catford fire is unknown and the London Fire Brigade has urged the public to avoid the area around Rosenthal Road as firefighters battled the blaze.
