Johnny Gaudreau’s wife honors him on their wedding anniversary

Johnny Gaudreau's wife posted a heartfelt and moving tribute to her late husband on Wednesday, what would have been their third wedding anniversary, calling it “one of the best days of our lives” as family, friends and fans continue to mourn the NHL star's tragic death.

Meredith Gaudreau posted a tribute to her husband on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos from the couple's special day.

“I've never posted this much but John deserves it,” Meredith wrote in the caption. “3 years ago today I became yours forever. One of the best days of my life including the night we got engaged and the day we brought our babies into the world. I remember the day I met you I said to myself, 'Oh man I'm going to marry him' and every day since has just gotten better and better.”

“John, I love you forever and am so proud to be your wife.”
