Singers Sam Smith, Sade Adu, Andre 3000 and Jane County have collaborated on a 46-track transgender propaganda album titled “Transa.”
The album includes a song called “Young Lion,” in which Adu sings to her real-life 28-year-old daughter, who goes by the name Isaac. Report by The New York Times.
“Young man, it must have been such a heavy burden for you, you must have felt so alone,” she sings. “I should have known.”
“It's incredible to hear a legendary musician like Sade sing about her heartfelt experience as a parent of a transgender child. It's incredibly powerful,” said Massima Bell, a transgender activist and musician who served as creative producer on “Transa.”
“In the human world, we are perceived in all sorts of hurtful ways,” Bell added. “As transgender people, we often find it easier to connect with the dehumanizing world around us without those prejudices.”
The pro-transgender album is the latest effort from Red Hot, an organization founded at the peak of the AIDS epidemic. The New York Times I have taken note.
“We live in a time when trans people, some of the most marginalized and vulnerable members of our culture, are being attacked and stigmatized in the same way that AIDS patients were in the '90s,” Red Hot co-founder John Carlin told the outlet.
“We're doing this to make sure the culture war is fought from both sides,” Carlin added.

“There's a serious side to this song, but it's important that there's humor in it because it makes people interested in this song who might have been scared of a song that talks about gender like this one,” the 77-year-old Wayne County & Electric Chairs singer said.
“The humor can also be comforting for those who are struggling to accept their gender identity,” County added.
