“He shouldn't have had to go through this. He shouldn't have had to die like this,” she said, adding, “I miss him so much. To me this is like… I wish it was a dream.”

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, friends remember the boy as “calm” and had a knack for making people laugh.

One of his friends, Abner Sands, told the outlet he had known Angulo since middle school.

“I started asking other people if it was true that he had died because I just wanted to know. I was in denial because I could never believe that someone I knew could die like that,” he said.

On a GoFundMe page to raise funds for funeral expenses, Angulo's sister, Lissette, posted a loving tribute to her brother.
