Trump Team Anticipates a ‘Fine’ Harris Debate Performance

Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver a “spectacular” performance in Tuesday's debate, Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita told House Republicans in a call on Friday, Axios reported.

The Trump campaign does not expect Harris' debate performance to be as disastrous for Democrats as President Joe Biden's this summer, which ultimately led Democrats to force Harris out of office.

Media reports say Harris has been focusing on debate preparations this week, but some reports say it hasn't gone as well as her campaign had hoped.

Harris will likely try to avoid a repeat of the crushing defeat suffered by then-Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard after the 2020 election. held Harris must take responsibility for her record as a far-left winger. Gabbard's attacks on Harris during the debate were deadly. Harris became the first candidate to drop out of the race.

“We didn't prepare her to take that punch,” said one person who worked with Harris in 2019. said This week in NOTUS. “The effectiveness of Tulsi in 2019 was due to a lack of preparation on our part. … I think there are few new blind spots now.”

With 60 days left until the presidential election, time is running out for voters to learn about Harris' vague plan to right the nation's decline under the Biden-Harris administration.

Since joining the campaign seven weeks ago, on July 21, 2024, she has given just one taped interview. In those seven weeks, Harris Changed Her position is a complete reversal, with her position unclear in nine areas.

These topics include:

  1. Prohibited Plastic straws (flip flops)
  2. a Delegation By 2035, produce only electric and hydrogen vehicles (unknown)
  3. Prohibited Hydraulic fracturing (changes in tone)
  4. Gun confiscation through a buyback program (which an anonymous campaign spokesman said he no longer supports);
  5. Decriminalization Crossing the southern border illegally (a cause he reportedly no longer supports, according to an anonymous campaign spokesman).
  6. Compensation (unknown)
  7. building The border wall (which he reportedly no longer supports, according to an anonymous campaign spokesman)
  8. Federal Job Guarantee (An anonymous campaign spokesman said he had dropped his support.)
  9. Medicare for All (Changed his attitude)

Trump could take advantage of Harris's shifting attitudes and unclear positions by casting her as an empty political shell willing to say whatever it takes to get elected.

Harris' candidacy faces a dilemma: if she campaigns on policies to improve crime, inflation and border security, she will undermine the policies of the Biden-Harris administration, but she must tout the administration's policies to justify her own record and her candidacy.

CNN's Dana Bash exposed Harris's difficulties on economic issues in her first pre-taped interview with her in August.

Harris touted the Biden-Harris administration's economic record while simultaneously blaming it on Trump, a stark contradiction that has forced her to promote the administration's policies to justify her candidacy while simultaneously undermining her own record and candidacy.
