Don’t panic if Week 1 isn’t kind to your team

Fantasy Football It should be fun, but I can feel the tension building up.

Regardless of how you feel about the draft or your roster, no one wants to start the season with a loss, and already many are in a state of panic and “analysis paralysis,” making mistakes more likely than ever.

People often cringe when fantasy analysts stop overthinking the situation and say “start your stud.”

As the season progresses, that dislike may be justified, but right now in Week 1, you have to trust your research and your draft.

If you select a player in the first five rounds of the draft, do you really want to bench him in exchange for a 12th rounder that your opponent believes is weaker?

Do we really know that it’s actually a weaker matchup?

Kyler Murray heads to Buffalo in Week 1, but the team that drafted him is already considering benching him.

Maybe it's because he's just come off two injury-plagued seasons, maybe it's the cross-country road trip, maybe it's the belief that the Bills defense is just horrible.

There have been countless questions about whether a player like Jared Goff or Caleb Williams should start ahead of him.

It's fine to play opponents when you have the data and a better understanding of their team's strengths and weaknesses, but at this point, why not play Murray?

The Bills defense has undergone some transformation recently and is not as intimidating as it once was.

The secondary doesn't have the same personnel, and the loss of linebacker Matt Milano will have an impact that most people don't realize.

Arizona has a strong offense that features a strong ground game, and Murray has a very exciting weapon. In fantasy games, his rushing power is also very significant.

And if you think the Bills are a strong team and will have a big lead, that will mean Murray will pitch more.

Don't be scared, trust the draft.

We see many of these situations.

Some fantasy managers are afraid to start third-round pick DK Metcalf because of the Broncos' secondary.

Do you bet on the NFL?

They also plan to bench Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel against the Jets.

Of course, situations like Isaiah Likely's dominance over Mark Andrews on Thursday night are always going to happen, but don't let that put you off.

Trust your research and your process, you drafted these players for a reason and give them the opportunity to show why.
