An unidentified woman was found dead inside a Brooklyn building on Saturday, “lying in a pool of blood,” police and sources told The Post.
According to the NYPD, the victim was discovered around 11:30 a.m. inside 113 Thatford Street in Brownsville, and was pronounced dead by paramedics.
A law enforcement source said police found the woman “lying in a pool of blood” and that investigators recovered three shell casings.
“The investigation is ongoing,” a department spokesman said.
The shocked neighbors had no idea what had happened.
“You have to talk to the police. We don't know,” one said.
“It's sad, I know how that family feels,” added another person, who was sitting on the porch next door, smoking a cigarette.
On Saturday afternoon, tight-lipped investigators were seen going in and out of the first-floor apartment.
The apartment complex was built in 2007, according to public records.
This is a developing story.
