It felt like an eternity since Anthony Richardson threw a pass for the Indianapolis Colts. On Sunday, that wait ended.
The Colts are looking to start the 2024 season with a division win against the Houston Texans, and Richardson has looked strong early on.
Richardson gave it his all in the first quarter, throwing a touchdown pass to wide receiver Alec Pierce.

The second-year quarterback took the snap in a shotgun formation. He faked a handoff, dropped back and found Pierce, who raced past two defensive backs for a 60-yard score.
It was the longest pass of Richardson's young career and drew praise on social media.
Steelers will start quarterback Justin Fields against the Falcons due to injury to Russell Wilson.
At that point the score was 7-3.
Richardson was the No. 4 overall pick by the Colts in the 2023 NFL Draft and starred at Florida before turning pro.

The 22-year-old appeared in just four games in his rookie year before an injury ruined his season. He finished with 577 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and four rushing touchdowns.
The Colts were forced to use Gardner Minshew II as their starter for most of last season.

Pierce is in his third season with the Colts and has 73 catches for 1,107 yards and four touchdowns in his career, after having 32 catches for 514 yards and two touchdowns last year.
