On Sunday, the NFL, in collaboration with Apple Music and Roc Nation, announced that Lamar will lead the halftime show at the Caesars Superdome on February 9.Number2025.

Lamar, 37, said he's looking forward to bringing hip-hop to the NFL championship game.

“Rap music remains the most influential genre,” Lamar said in a statement, “and I'm here to remind the world why: They made the right choice.”

The rapper performed as a guest artist at the 2022 Super Bowl alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Eminem.

Lamar has enjoyed huge success since releasing his debut album, “Good Kid, What's Up” in 2012. Since then, he has won 17 Grammy Awards and became the first non-classical or jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album, “DAMN.”

The rapper's latest album, Mr. Moral and the Big Steppers, was released in 2022. Alongside Future and Metro Boomin, he is featured on the song “Like That,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks this year.

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z said Lamar is a “once in a generation” artist and performer.

“His deep love of hip hop and culture informs his artistic vision,” said Jay Z. “He has the unmatched ability to define and influence culture around the world. Kendrick's work transcends music and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Roc Nation and Emmy Award-winning producer Jesse Collins will serve as co-executive producers of the halftime show, and creative direction for Lamar's performance will be handled by pgLang, the creative company founded by Lamar and Dave Free.

“Kendrick has proven time and time again his unique ability to create moments that resonate, redefine and ultimately shake up the very foundations of hip-hop,” said NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky.
