The rookie quarterback, who is the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, garnered attention this summer in Chicago, but the Bears' defense and special teams held them to a 24-17 victory. Tennessee TitansChicago cornerback Tyriq Stevenson scored the game-winning touchdown against the Bears on a pick-six by Titans quarterback Will Revis — a head-scratching decision for Tennessee's passers that may or may not have been influenced by mayonnaise-flavored cologne — but the Bears held the Titans to 244 total yards and two interceptions by Revis.
Chicago's other big play came on special teams when the Bears blocked a punt and Chicago defensive back Jonathan Jones picked it off and returned it for the team's first touchdown of the 2024 NFL season.
The play prompted the perfect response on social media from Jones' wife, Simone Biles.
It was a big summer for both athletes. Biles brought home three gold medals and one silver for the U.S. women's gymnastics team, including a gold in the individual all-around and helping the U.S. win the team all-around. Owens missed part of the Bears' training camp in Paris to support her.
Now, Owens has scored the Bears' first touchdown of the 2024 season, helping Chicago start the season 1-0.
