Miami Dolphins Receiver Tyreek Hill Detained by Police Before Jaguars Game

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was handcuffed and detained by police on Sunday morning ahead of the team's home game against the NFL team the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The video, which showed four officers restraining Hill as he lay face down in the pavement, shocked social media viewers who had been hoping to watch him play later in the afternoon.

The altercation was over a “driving offence.” New York Post Reported A statement from his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

According to ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington, Hill was “charged with reckless driving following a confrontation with police outside the stadium.”

“He was stopped by police and then got into an altercation with the officers. The officers decided to handcuff Hill. He was charged and released once the situation had calmed down,” Darlington wrote to X.

Rosenhaus slammed the Dolphins' treatment of their star player in an interview with NFL Network. New York Post.

“It's very upsetting to see the way he was treated,” his agent said at the Miami stadium after Hill's release. “It's unnecessary. There's no reason for Tyreek to be treated like that.”

Rosenhaus called the incident “absurd,” adding that Hill would be speaking with an attorney because she felt it had “gotten out of hand.”

The team also released an official statement regarding X.

“WR Tyreek Hill was involved in a traffic accident this morning approximately one block from the stadium and was briefly detained by police. He has since been released,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “Several teammates witnessed the accident and stopped to offer their support. Tyreek and all other players arrived at the stadium safely and are expected to be available for today's game.”
