Josh Palmer, Jack Jones ejected after Raiders-Chargers brawl

A brawl broke out between the Chargers and Raiders in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, leading to two players being ejected from Los Angeles' win.

The brawl broke out late in the game after the Chargers had a 12-point lead and two conversion attempts, while Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones were engaged in extracurricular activities.

The match quickly became heated and as the two teams converged it looked like a fistfight was about to break out.

Coaches and officials tried to control the situation.

Things seemed to calm down just as quickly as they started, with Palmer and Jones being ejected from the Week 1 game.

Despite numerous players attempting to step in and break things up before they got out of hand, the skirmish resulted in only two players being kicked from the game.

The Chargers won 22-10.

Jones was in his first full season with the Raiders since being acquired via waivers in November, which saw him play in Las Vegas' final seven games of the season.

He recorded 37 total tackles, five passes defended and two interceptions during the 2023 season.

Palmer had two catches for 15 yards receiving before being told to head to the shower, coming off a shortened 2023 campaign due to a knee injury.

The AFC West teams will still face off this season, with Game 2 scheduled to be held in Las Vegas in Week 18.
