Billy McFarland sets Fyre Festival II date — with tickets as much as $1.1M

Convicted fraudster Billy McFarland has revealed that Fyre Festival II will take place off the coast of Mexico next April, with tickets expected to cost $1.1 million.

The 32-year-old revealed details of his disastrous second attempt at the music festival in an interview. NBC News on monday.

“Fyre Festival II will take place on April 25, 2025, so that's seven and a half months away,” McFarland said.

“We own a private island off the coast of Mexico in the Caribbean and we have a great production company that handles everything.”

McFarland said ticket prices for the controversial three-day event would range from $1,400 to a staggering $1.1 million, adding that more expensive options would include luxury yachts, scuba diving and island-hopping.

The entrepreneur, who revealed earlier this year that he was more than $30 million in debt, declined to disclose the name of the island or the names of the companies that have come forward to help with the event's logistics.

He also said that the festival had not yet decided on its artists.

But McFarland was adamant the revamped festival would not be a repeat of 2017's infamous event in the Bahamas, where outraged attendees were left stranded with disaster relief tents and cheese sandwiches in Styrofoam boxes.

This time, McFarland argued that the island has the physical infrastructure, including hotels and vacation homes, where people can stay.

“We're also going to have cheese sandwiches,” he joked. “That's going to be super expensive too. We're going to make something really tasty. That's probably going to be the most expensive food.”

The world-famous conman was convicted of defrauding investors during his first attempt at the Fyre Festival and ultimately served a four-year prison sentence.

“I am absolutely guilty. I committed a crime. I deserve to go to prison and I deserve to serve my prison time,” McFarland said.

Shortly after being fired in 2022, the trickster began hinting at plans for a big comeback and Fyre Festival II.

He claimed last August that the first 100 tickets had already been sold for $499 each, despite no details about the venue, lineup or accommodations having been revealed.

“I think there's a lot of people who want to go to 'Fyre II' because they don't know the outcome, and they want a front-row seat to whatever happens,” McFarland said Monday about the initial interest.

“Thankfully, we have good partners who make sure they're safe and make sure things go well.”

“We have a chance to embrace this storm and really steer our ship through all the turmoil that's happened, and if we do that well, I think Fyre has a chance to really become an annual festival that takes the festival industry by storm,” he added.
