Golf is making a grand return this week.
The Amgen Irish Open will visit one of the world's best courses at Royal County Down, while the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Fall will kick off at the ProCure Championship in Napa.
But one tournament trumps them all.
It's the Solheim Cup, the LPGA's Ryder Cup, and this week the US is looking to beat Europe on home soil for the first time since 2017. World No. 1 and No. 2 Nelly Korda and Lilia Vu lead Team USA, while France's Céline Boutier and England's Charlie Hull arrive in Virginia as the top-ranked Europeans. While the US is loaded with talent, the Europeans can rely on the impressive match play record they have achieved in the past three Solheim Cups. One only has to look back to last year, when Team Europe, led by local hero Carlota Ciganda, held the US to a 14-14 draw at Finca Cortesin in Spain. But Europe had already won the 2021 Solheim Cup in Inverness, Toledo, Ohio, so the home team could retain the cup and celebrate the glory.
It's a big event, arguably the biggest event in women's golf, similar to the Ryder Cup for the men.
Accordingly, NBC Sports will develop comprehensive coverage of this week's competition at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

September 15 (Sunday) 8:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Golf Channel); 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (NBC)
Every match, every shot will be broadcast live in the U.S. This is a huge win for the LPGA and women's golf as a whole.
Golf Channel will also be broadcasting live coverage of the 2024 Solheim Cup ceremonies on Thursday, September 12th, beginning at 4pm ET. USA Captain Stacy Lewis and Europe Captain Susanne Pettersen will announce their opponents during the first session of the opening ceremony on Friday morning.
