USSS assistant director asked to retire over Trump assassination attempt

A senior U.S. Secret Service (USSS) official has been asked to resign, Fox News Digital has learned.

Michael Plati, deputy director of the Defense Operations Agency, has been asked to step down from his position and is due to finish up his role in the coming days.

The decision was reportedly linked to the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, a security failure that sent shock waves through all levels of the CIA.
