Candace Owens claims that YouTube temporarily suspended her channel after a “Zionist” flagged her for saying that “Jews control the media” during an interview with rapper Kanye West last month.
Owens said, Condemned by the Anti-Defamation League “Political commentator He was banned from the streaming service on Monday for “condoning and promoting anti-Semitic tropes.”
“There will be no show today, or this week,” Owens wrote on his X account on Monday.
“That's because @YouTube gave me a warning and a 1 week suspension for talking to Kanye.”
She also said that YouTube had “demonetized” her account, which has 2.4 million followers.
Owens, who left the Daily Wire earlier this year after a public spat with co-founder Ben Shapiro over Israel and anti-Semitism, said Alphabet-owned YouTube removed the interview as “hate speech” after it was “heavily covered by Zionists.”
“Their tactics never change,” Owens added.
She shared a screenshot of an email she received from YouTube, which read, “Additionally, the video 'Kanye West (Ye) x Candace Owens | Candace Ep 42' has been removed from the Candace Owens YouTube channel for violating our hate speech policy.”
“YouTube doesn't allow content that contains conspiratorial claims that individuals or groups are evil, corrupt or malicious based on their protected group status,” the message from YouTube said.
“The video in question contains allegations that Jews control the media,” the company told Owens.
The interview took place on Aug. 7, but YouTube's decision came after the video was flagged in recent weeks by a social media campaign calling for Owens to be removed from the platform.
Owens wrote to X that anyone who watched his Aug. 7 interview with West (who has legally changed his name to Ye) saw him “calm and full of love, speaking about the world coming together to defeat evil.”
She suggested the move to shut down the YouTube channel was related to a debate she had with Rabbi Shmulei Boteach on Piers Morgan's television show last week.
“The world knows why I am being targeted and frankly I have never been more convinced I deserve this,” Owens wrote to X.
“So far, I have not received a single strike on my @YouTubeCreators account,” she said, adding, “I was inundated with three content violations in quick succession within minutes, plus an email saying I'd been completely demonetized.”
YouTube confirmed it had suspended Owens' account on Tuesday.
“We have suspended the channel associated with Candace Owens from the YouTube Partner Programme following repeated violations of our policies, including our advertiser-friendly and community guidelines,” YouTube spokesman Jack Maron said in a statement to The Washington Post.
The company confirmed that Owens will no longer be able to earn money from YouTube and that the site has banned her from uploading content to her channel for a week.
YouTube said Owens' channel had repeatedly violated the site's policies and that creators could apply for access again within 90 days.
Ye has also had several of his social media accounts suspended for making anti-Semitic remarks, including repeatedly using the metaphor that Jews control the entertainment industry and accusing Jewish doctors of providing improper treatment.
Owens has defended Ye and other far-right figures such as Nick Fuentes, who has been accused of making anti-Semitic remarks.
