Rock singer Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters announced Tuesday that he has fathered a child outside of marriage.
“I recently became a father to a daughter born outside of marriage,” Grohl wrote on social media.
The shocking news was followed by a few brief sentences explaining the 55-year-old man's current situation.

“I intend to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” he said of his newborn daughter.
Grohl spoke about infidelity and his nuclear family.

“I love my wife and children and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he said.
The famous rock star didn't reveal any details about the woman he was having an affair with or how long he cheated on his wife. He also didn't reveal the age of his newborn daughter, choosing to keep her name private.
“I appreciate your consideration for all of the children involved as we move forward together,” he concluded.

Grohl turned off comments on this post, as well as all of his other Instagram posts, seemingly to prevent the public from speaking out about the shocking revelation.
