An Oregon youth cheer coach has been initially charged with one count of sexual abuse and two counts of attempted sexual abuse after a weeks-long investigation.

However, Trenkler was originally charged with one count of sexual abuse and two counts of attempted sexual abuse before the charges were increased to “six counts of attempted sexual abuse” after further evidence was uncovered, police said.
According to a statement from the police department, Anthony Trenkler, 27, was lured to a street corner in St. Helens where he was arrested by police.
After receiving a search warrant, detectives seized more evidence.
Authorities initially began investigating Trenkler on Aug. 13.Number following reports about his conduct while working as a cheerleading coach at Vault Elite in St. Helens, Oregon.
Police also said new victims have come forward or been discovered since the investigation began.
Vault Elite fired Trenkler in August after learning of the investigation and asked parents in a Facebook post to attend an Aug. 15 meeting.Number To address their concerns.
“We have been made aware of allegations of abuse against one of our former coaches,” the post read. “Vault Elite has terminated this coach's contract and is fully cooperating with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of our players. He has been banned from our gym going forward and the safety of our players is our number one priority. Classes and camps have been canceled until further notice. We are hosting a parent meeting on Thursday, August 15th at 4:15pm to address any questions or concerns you may have. If you have any information regarding the abuse allegations, we encourage you to contact local law enforcement directly.”
Police fear there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
