People who witnessed two planes collide at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday are recounting the events they witnessed.
Two jets, operated by Delta Airlines and Delta subsidiary Endeavor Air, collided on a taxiway, with the larger plane knocking down the tail of the smaller regional jet.
No injuries were reported, and the FAA will be investigating the accident.
“The Delta Air Lines Airbus A350 was en route to Tokyo. The Endeavour Bombardier CRJ900 was en route to Lafayette, Louisiana,” the airline said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

There were 221 passengers on board the Airbus plane and 56 on the regional jet, according to the Associated Press.
“I've just noticed that the RJ's tail is missing,” an air traffic controller said, according to an audio archive kept by LiveATC.net. “So, Endeavour 5526, please remain in position and hold. Do you need any emergency assistance?”
“Help isn't coming anytime soon,” the pilot replied, “but we'll need a tow.”
Delta Air Lines said a wing of the larger plane was also damaged.

Delta Air Lines said: “There are currently no reports of injuries and passengers are being returned to the terminal and will be transferred to an alternative flight.” (Onef)
“I was on another Delta flight and the pilot announced there would be a short delay on the ramp,” Greg Voinovich told Fox News Digital in an email Wednesday morning. “The pilot wanted to let us know what was going on. [happening] This is so that you won't be surprised if you see an emergency vehicle.”
“He said the larger plane struck the tail of the smaller plane while taxiing. He wanted us all to know that no one was hurt. We appreciate Delta trying to let passengers know what was going on.”

“It was absolutely terrifying. We were taxiing in to fly from Atlanta to Louisiana and another plane appeared to hit the back of our plane,” WFTS meteorologist Jason Adams said. Posted in X. “We heard a very nasty metal scraping sound, then a loud explosion. We're OK, no fire, no smoke.”
Delta later released a second statement, saying it “worked with each customer to accommodate them on an alternate aircraft scheduled to depart Tuesday afternoon and apologizes to customers for the experience.”
A fatal accident occurred at Delta's Technical Operations Center maintenance facility in August. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, The airline said so.
