Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) said on ABC's “The View” on Wednesday that Vice President Kamala Harris should not debate former President Donald Trump again.
Christy said, “Look, at the end of the day, she did what she had to do last night.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg responded, “Yes, I did.”
“She's a little-known, low-profile figure, but she needed to show undecided voters that she was worthy of the stage,” Christie continued.
Co-host Joy Behar responded, “Exactly.”
Christie continued, “Last night she showed she belongs on this stage, and that's why I saw her campaign calling for a second debate right after the debate. Don't do that. Don't do that.”
“Don't play around with perfection,” Behar said.
“She shouldn't do that,” Christie said. “Really, step into the ring with a man who's been in more presidential debates than anybody in history and try to beat him? Throw her arms up, go to two rallies in one day, raise money and go home. She shouldn't do that because nothing great is going to happen to her in the second debate. Either she does as well as she did this time or he does better.”
