Tyreek Hill Wants Cop Who Detained Him During Traffic Stop Fired

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill said he wants one of the officers who stopped and detained him on his way to Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday fired.

Hill made the request during a news conference on Wednesday, accusing officers of showing a lack of respect to him and teammate Callie Campbell.

“He's got to go,” Hill said, “Because not only did he treat me badly then, he was disrespectful to my teammates. He said crazy things to them, and they ain't done nothing! What did they do to you? They're just walking down the sidewalk. So, I don't know, brother. He's got to go, and [there are] “It's not often that 'Cheetah' tells people to get out, but you?… You got out.”

According to a police summons, officers pursued Hill and pulled him over after observing him traveling at a visually estimated speed of 60 mph in a 40 mph speed limit zone.

When officers approached Hill's car, Hill didn't immediately lower the tinted window, so the officer knocked on the driver's side window, which Hill didn't like. After speaking with the officer, Hill raised the window again. The officer instructed the Dolphins receiver to keep the window down, but Hill ignored the request and continued talking on the phone with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

The officer warned the multi-time Pro Bowl player that he would be “removed” from the car if he did not comply, and when Hill again refused to roll down his window, the officer complied and used force to remove Hill from the car.

Great questions like, “Why didn't you open the window?” weren't asked at Hill's Wednesday press conference.

One officer has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the incident.
