Madonna's 12-year-old twin daughters, Stella and Estelle, celebrated their Bat Mitzvah over the weekend surrounded by family and friends.
The 66-year-old “Material Girl” singer shared several photos of Stella and Estelle leading services at the synagogue.
In one photo, Stella and Estelle are seen standing in front of the Torah and reading the siddur, or Jewish prayer book, as their mother and rabbi follow them.
Another photo shows the pop star and the twins reciting a prayer from a pew.
“Bar Mitzvah Day! Stella Estelle 12-12,” Madonna captioned the photo, along with one blue heart and one pink heart. Her daughters just turned 12 on August 26.
Meanwhile, Madonna's 18-year-old son, David Banda, also took part in the service and was seen wearing a tallit (prayer shawl) around his shoulders and holding a Torah above his head.
The Vogue artist wore a long floral dress with puffy sleeves for the special occasion, while Stella and Estelle both wore casual '90s-style sundresses.
After the coming-of-age ceremony, Stella and Estelle were seen posing next to a large cake decorated with red and yellow candles.
Madonna's longtime manager, Guy Oseary, was also on hand to celebrate the birth of her youngest child. Reported People.
Madonna appears to have a close bond with the two girls, sharing several pictures from their birthday party last month.
“Happy Birthday to my Virgo twins! ♍️♍️. Estelle and Stella!!! Blink and you'll be teenagers soon…” Madonna wrote. In an Instagram post August 26th “Time is a ferocious beast!!”
She continued, “You're both so brave, talented, opinionated and full of life. I can't wait to read the next chapters. I love you both so much!!! 💜💚💛🩵🩷💛💙♥️🖤🤎🤍”
Madonna adopted Malawi-born children Stella and Estere in February 2017, when they were five years old.
She also adopted two children, David in 2006 and 18-year-old daughter Mercy, from Malawi in 2009.
Madonna also has a 27-year-old daughter, Lourdes, with former partner Carlos Leon, and a 24-year-old son, Rocco, with ex-husband Guy Ritchie, whom she was married to from 2000 to 2008.
Madonna is known for her study of Kabbalah, a Jewish mystical practice.
She and David showed their dedication to the religion by getting matching tattoos of the Kabbalah Tree of Life in 2022.
The songstress also had the word “Kissed” tattooed in Hebrew on her inside wrist a year ago.
