Activist and author Monica Lewinsky offered a rare shoutout to the Drudge Report for calling this week's presidential debate between former President Trump and Vice President Harris “the end of the Trump campaign.”
“I never thought I'd praise the Drudge Report, but here it is. (IYKYK)” Lewinsky wrote on Instagram: On Wednesday, he used the abbreviation for “The more you know, the more you understand.”
The Drudge Report is Breaking News The controversial affair that took place in 1998 between then-President Clinton and Lewinsky.
The outlet has frequently criticized Trump in recent years. Lewinsky's Instagram post included a link to the Drudge Report's Banner Heading “The End” is read alongside a digital image of Trump surrounded by small animals including cats and ducks.
The headline and image remained at the top of the Drudge Report website as the debate continued into Wednesday morning.
The image pointed to one of the debate's most notable moments, in which Trump shouted “They're eating dogs,” referring to unfounded allegations that immigrants in a small Ohio town were eating pets.
Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Trump's running mate, came under fire earlier this week for spreading the conspiracy theory and later acknowledged it may not be true.
In 1998, Matt Drudge reported that Newsweek magazine was covering up a story about Clinton's affair, which set off a media frenzy that lasted for years and led to the president being impeached on charges of obstruction of justice and perjury. Clinton was ultimately acquitted by the Senate and served out his term.
After her affair with Clinton was revealed and she was cast out of politics, Lewinsky emerged as an anti-bullying activist and led a number of voter outreach efforts.
She is a well-known Democrat. He urged voters In January, he said he would vote Democratic, but stopped short of publicly endorsing Harris' candidacy.
