UNRWA Employees Were Among Hamas Terrorists Killed in Airstrike: IDF

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Thursday responded to criticism from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) by releasing the names of three UNRWA employees and Hamas terrorists who were allegedly killed in an airstrike.

UNRWA on Wednesday accused Israel of bombing a “school”, killing six staff members.

Israel said it targeted Hamas terrorists who were illegally using the facility as a base of operations.

On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces released a list of killed Hamas terrorists, including three alleged UNRWA employees.

Yesterday (Wednesday), at the direction of the IDF and ISA intelligence, the Israeli Air Force carried out precision strikes against terrorists operating from a command and control center in the former Al-Jauni School compound in the Nuseirat neighborhood of central Gaza.

Following reports that a local Palestinian UNRWA staff member was killed as a result of the attack, the Israel Defense Forces requested the agency provide the staff member's details and name so that the allegations could be thoroughly investigated. So far, despite repeated requests, there has been no response from UNRWA.

So far, the attack has been confirmed to have eliminated a number of Hamas terrorists, including:

1. Aysal Qaradia, a terrorist affiliated with Hamas' military wing and Internal Security Forces.

2. Mohammed Adnan Abu Zayd is a terrorist in Hamas' military wing, responsible for firing mortar shells at the IDF and the State of Israel, who previously served as an operative in Hamas' naval unit and was also a UNRWA employee.

3. Bassem Majed Shaheen, the terrorist leader of Hamas' military wing who took part in the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.

4. Ammar al-Jadiri, a terrorist affiliated with Hamas' military wing and the Internal Security Forces.

5. Akram Saber al-Gharaidi, a terrorist affiliated with Hamas' military wing and Internal Security Forces.

6. Mohammed Issa Abu al-Amir, a terrorist with the military wing of Hamas who took part in the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.

7. Sharif Salam, a terrorist from Hamas' military wing.

8. Yasser Ibrahim Abu Sharar, a terrorist in Hamas' military wing and an operative in Hamas' Emergency Department in Nuseira, as well as a UNRWA employee.

9. Ayad Matar, a terrorist with the military wing of Hamas and also a UNRWA employee.

The UN acknowledged last month that nine UNRWA staff may have been involved in a Hamas terror attack on October 7. UNRWA has also been accused of indoctrinating Palestinians to hate Israel and the Jewish people, and of encouraging them to expect a “return” to Israel that will involve its destruction.

Israeli government spokesman David Mensah added at a press conference on Thursday that UNRWA, which was set up to help the Palestinians, is bad at its job: “They're useless at distributing aid, they're useless at educating. They have no place in post-war Gaza.”
