Amazon is closing one of its grocery fulfillment centers in West Sacramento, California, resulting in the layoffs of about 160 employees.
The facility is scheduled to close Oct. 30, according to a notice filed with the state Employment Development Department. Obtained by Sacramento Bee.
Five Amazon managers and 154 employees will reportedly be affected by the closure of the warehouse facility at 3640 Ramos Drive.
Amazon spokesman Sam Stephenson told the paper that the laid-off workers would be given the opportunity to find employment elsewhere in the area.
Stephenson added that the facility is closing because Amazon decided not to renew its lease at that particular facility location.
The retail giant also said KCRA 3 said the closure of the West Sacramento warehouse will not affect the company's customers.
Amazon also reportedly plans to terminate the lease on another facility in Irvine, California, which employs 162 people, resulting in the facility closing on November 7.
Amazon, despite feeling the pressure of Kamalanomics, has given its full support to the Kamala Harris campaign, including providing answers through its Alexa smart assistant.

These reasons included, hilariously, that Harris is a “proven and strong candidate.”
Fox News Digital compiled a range of responses to the question, noting that the responses depended on the specific model of Amazon device being used. In one video widely shared on X (formerly Twitter), Alexa responded to the question “Why should you vote for Kamala Harris?” by saying, “There are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, but perhaps the most important is that she is a proven, strong candidate. As the first female vice president, Harris has already broken significant gender barriers, and her political career has been marked by a dedication to progressive ideals and a focus on helping disenfranchised communities.”
