Prince Harry said he's “thrilled” to turn 40 this weekend, admitting it's a stark contrast to how he felt when he entered his 30s.
The Duke of Sussex's birthday will be celebrated with a star-studded party hosted by his wife, Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry is also reportedly planning to take a multi-day guys-only trip into the mountains with friends.
Ahead of the big day, the Duke spoke of his “new outlook on life”.
“I was scared of 30 but excited about 40. No matter my age, my mission is to continue to go out into the world and do good,” a royal rep said. He told BBC News.
“Being a father to two very kind and funny kids has given me a new perspective on life and made me more focused at work.”
“Becoming a father is one of life's greatest joys and makes me more motivated and dedicated to making the world a better place,” the statement added.
Following his birthday celebration, Harry will be traveling to New York City.
His visit will coincide with the UN General Assembly's High-Level Week and Climate Week, The Washington Post confirmed last month.
The father-of-two will be in New York “to promote a number of sponsorship and charitable causes,” his rep said, adding that he will be busy with work with African Parks, the Halo Trust, the Diana Awards and Travalyst.
Prince Harry will also “further develop the work of the Archewell Foundation, the non-profit organization he co-founded with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,” a representative for Prince Harry told The Post in a statement.
However, the trip will be a solo adventure for the royal, as his wife Meghan Markle, 43, will remain in Montecito, California with their two children.
Prince Harry's trip coincides with his estranged brother Prince William's annual Earthshot Prize innovation summit, which is also due to take place on September 24.
It is unclear whether Prince William, 42, will attend this year's summit, but the heir to the throne attended last year.
If two warring brothers showed up in New York at the same time, they would likely not acknowledge each other's presence.
The pair attended their uncle's funeral in the UK last month but reportedly did not acknowledge each other's presence.
