Accused Illegal Alien Rapist Freed into U.S. by Biden-Harris DHS

An illegal immigrant accused of raping a girl in southeast Louisiana was released into the United States by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' Department of Homeland Security (DHS) despite there being space available to hold him in federal detention facilities.

The House Judiciary Committee Report Angel Matias Castellanos Orellana, a 19-year-old from Honduras, is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl and stabbing a man during a violent armed robbery in Kenner, Louisiana.

“The Biden-Harris Administration's disastrous immigration policies have had real consequences for the American people,” Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) wrote in the report.

The effects of these policies will be felt for years to come, as criminal aliens live in America's neighborhoods, harming families and threatening public safety across the country.

According to reports, Castellanos Orellana crossed the U.S.-Mexico border for the first time on October 6, 2023, near Eagle Pass, Texas.

Shortly after his arrest by Border Patrol agents, Castellanos Orellana was given a Notice to Appear (NTA) before a federal immigration judge on November 7, 2023, and released from Department of Homeland Security custody.

Border Patrol officials blamed a “lack of space” in the agency's detention facilities for Castellanos Orellana's release, but Federal Data You can see that at that time, thousands of beds were free and available.

DHS officials also made clear in Castellanos-Orellana's case file that he claimed he had no fear of returning to his native Honduras, further complicating why he was released from DHS custody rather than deported.

Just months after being released into the interior of the U.S., Castellanos-Orellana is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl and stabbing a man during a violent armed robbery in Kenner. He has been charged with first-degree rape, aggravated assault, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Castellanos Orellana remains in local police custody without bail, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has filed a detention order against him seeking custody.

“Because the Biden-Harris Administration has allowed undocumented immigrants to enter and remain in the country, the victims of Castellanos Orellana and their families will never be able to return to the same life they had before,” Jordan and McClintock wrote. “Sadly, the victims of Castellanos Orellana and their families are not alone.”
