‘ALF’ child star Benji Gregory’s cause of death revealed

The cause of death of “ALF” star Benji Gregory has been revealed, three months after the former child actor passed away at age 46.

Gregory, who was found dead in his car in Peoria, Arizona, on June 13, died from “environmental heat exposure while suffering from cirrhosis of the liver,” according to the Maricopa County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's report ruled the cause of death to be accidental.

In July, Gregory's former brother-in-law, Max Pfaffinger, confirmed Gregory's passing to Fox News Digital. Service dogsHans was also found dead in the car.

Gregory's death was first announced by his sister, Rebecca Herzberg-Pfaffinger, in a Facebook post on July 10.

“I am heartbroken that your family has suffered such a loss so soon,” Herzberg-Puffinger wrote alongside a photo of Gregory and his family.

She continued, “Ben was a wonderful son, brother and uncle. He was fun to be around and often made us laugh. Yet as I sort through his belongings, I find myself laughing in between tears at the little videos and notes he left behind.”

“My brother Ben was found dead in his car on June 13th along with his dog Hans. We believe he went there on the evening of the 12th to deposit the body (he was found in the car) and did so without ever getting out of the car. He fell asleep and died of heatstroke in the car.”

Gregory was born in Los Angeles on May 26, 1978 and began his television career at an early age, appearing in TV shows such as 'The A-Team,' 'TJ Hooker,' 'Punky Brewster,' and 'The Twilight Zone.'

Gregory was best known for playing Brian Tanner on the hit sitcom “ALF,” which aired from 1986 to 1990.

After “ALF,” Gregory voiced Edgar the Mole in the 1993 animated film “Once Upon a Forest,” which is believed to be his final film.

According to deadlineGregory left show business in the early 2000s and enlisted in the United States Navy, from which he was honorably discharged in 2005.
